IDEAL HOME SHOW RETURNS TO SEC THIS BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Ideal Home Show Scotland officially opened its doors this morning (Friday 24 May) at the SEC by homes and interiors celebrity experts, including DIY SOS presenter and I’m a Celeb star Nick Knowles, homes and renovation expert Kunle Barker and celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager.

Returning for its 9th year, the Ideal Home Show Scotland will feature more than 300 exhibitors. From gardens to interiors and housewares through to gadgets, the Ideal Home Show Scotland has everything for every room in your home. Over this four-day event, visitors will find interior inspiration for the living room, space maximising ideas for the office, decorating ideas and the latest trends for the kitchen and bathroom.

The ‘Super Theatre’ will offer insider tips from celebrity guests and experts on topics such as garden upcycling, interior design trends and home renovation. Other famous faces who will be sharing their best tips and advice include:

  • John Amabile, interior designer and television personality
  • David Domoney, garden expert and presenter of Love Your Garden

In an ever-conscious society, energy saving is at the forefront of homeowners minds. The Ideal Home Show Scotland will help visitors future-proof their home with solutions to help transform their properties into low-energy, more sustainable homes. Visitors can explore a wide range of eco-friendly exhibitors, from smart home technologies and practical interior design furnishings and this year’s show home, designed around an energy saving theme, demonstrating how technology such as smart meters can help reduce your carbon footprint.

Four themed Roomsets are designed with the latest interiors trends, from scandi minimalist to luxury interiors and serene living spaces, offering inspiration to suit all styles.

Erskine, Ideal Home Show Scotland’s charity partner, will delight the green fingered visitor, with their Ideal Show Garden and Plant Market inspired by the historic Stable Building and Piggery, which have provided a tranquil environment for Veterans since 1916. The integrated Erskine plant market will be filled with a selection of plants and shrubbery with horticultural experts on hand to assist and inspire summer garden creations.

With everything for an ideal Scottish home under one roof, more than 40,000 visitors are expected to fill the halls at the SEC over the bank holiday weekend.

The Ideal Home Show Scotland also offers ticketholders free entry to the co-located Eat & Drink Festival. The Eat & Drink Festival will showcase the best of Scottish food and drink with tasters and demonstrations led by Rosemary Shrager and the likes of The Gannet restaurant and Glenwyvis Distillery.

Justin Levett from show organisers Media 10 said: “The property market in Scotland has started to heat up in the last 12 months and is predicted to continue. We notice there are real differences in homes styles up and down the country and through the selection of guests and exhibitors at the show we aim to reflect the Scottish tastes and heritage and hopefully help give some home inspiration to the people of Scotland.”
